Artist, framer, designer, mum
I love to create, working with my hands to craft something truly special and unique. I believe the tiny details make all the difference. And I really love a challenge!
I studied printmaking at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen before moving back to the West Coast where I grew up, and setting up my own studio in Kyle of Lochalsh. I was exhibiting regularly, so learning to frame my own artwork seemed the natural next step. I really love the framing process, and honed my skills over the years along with some specialist training in conservation framing and object framing.
At the same time I started working for a local print company as a graphic designer and pre-press operator, until I took the leap to go fully self employed in 2015. Strath Print was a great small business to work for, and I left with a wealth of design experience and knowledge of the print industry. My interests led me to study further and develop my skills in website design and online marketing which has complemented my design services.
I’m lucky to have two young children, a wee boy Struan, and a baby girl Aila, and to be able to raise them in this beautiful part of the world. I’m on the crew with Kyle RNLI, and in my spare time (not much of that at the moment with two wee ones!) I love diving and exploring the water round our coast.
If you’d like to have a chat about a framing or design project then please get in touch.
