There are not many achievements bigger than being presented with an MBE and royal warrant. An MBE is awarded for a significant achievement or outstanding service to the community. It is a requirement that the MBE is never worn unless in the presence of HRH. It can however (and I think definitely should) be proudly displayed – and what better way than in a custom hand made frame?
I designed the box frame to hold the MBE itself along with the black presentation box, and a matching frame for the royal warrant. Acid free and conservation grade materials were used throughout as these objects are so precious and it is important that they are not damaged in any way but still held within the frame safely and securely. Should the MBE holder be invited to an audience with the Queen they are required to wear the MBE, and so the medal has to be able to be removed for such an occasion. Just as well the frame was designed to be easily opened, as this MBE holder has received an invitation just weeks after having the frame made!
