Artist Liz Green has an exhibition of contemporary paintings in Glenfiddich Distillery Gallery. What a great combination – whisky and art!
Liz has painted distilleries and their surrounding landscapes and is showing this collection together for the first time in her show – ‘Distilled Landscapes’. I love the look of this light and spacious gallery, and Liz’s paintings sit really well in the space.
Liz lives in Culloden, near Inverness, and has been coming over to me for framing for a few years now. We met through the wonderful Inchmore gallery, Beauly, which has sadly now closed. It’s amazing the connections that can be made and I’m really lucky to have met lots of great artists through Inchmore Gallery.
We have used a mix of limed frames and black painted frames to pick out the strong lines that Liz uses in her contemporary artworks. It’s great to see the framed paintings hanging together in the gallery space. This was a large order of frames and each one was handmade from start to finish. A few late nights were needed to get the frames ready on time, but I’m pretty spoiled with a great view to look out over.
